SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., June 8, 2010 –
OptionEase® Inc., the leader in on-demand software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications for fair-market-value accounting and compliance, today announced that it has selected a recipient for its first annual sponsorship of “The Marilyn J. Perkins Claassen Memorial Scholarship.” Kevin Feeney, vice president of Capital Appreciation Plans for Gartner, will use the scholarship to earn the Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation through Santa Clara University’s CEP Institute (CEPI).
OptionEase will award the scholarship each year to a member of the stock plan community who seeks to expand his or her knowledge in order to compete in a constantly shifting equity market. The scholarship, which includes all three levels of the certification process, demonstrates OptionEase’s commitment to providing professionals with the tools, technologies and training necessary to meet the demands of accounting compliance and stock and equity administration.
“This is an ever-changing field, and professionals who want to succeed in it need to continually find ways to educate and re-educate themselves,” said Feeney. “I’m looking forward to this opportunity to take the exam and deepen my knowledge.”
“OptionEase understands the demands on professionals working in equity administration, valuation and compliance,” said Kim Kovacs, CEO of OptionEase. “There is a strong need for ongoing education in order to keep pace with evolving regulations. We are pleased to award this scholarship to Mr. Feeney, and we look forward to offering this opportunity to other deserving professionals in the future.”
The Certified Equity Professional Institute (CEPI) establishes, promotes and provides certification and continuing education for the equity compensation industry. Since its founding in 1989, the CEPI's self-study curriculum has served as the industry's educational standard.
